I have been perfecting my smoothie game over the past few weeks, and this smoothie has been on repeat!! I usually make it right after a sweaty workout, when I am craving some creamy, frosty, fuel for my bod! I have been playing around with putting veggies in my smoothies to balance out the amount of sugar and add nutrients. This is the AMAZING final product.
Blueberry Zucchini Smoothie
- 1 1/2 cups spinach
- 1 cup frozen blueberries
- 1/2 cup frozen zucchini (raw)
- 1/2 frozen banana
- 1 tsp maca powder (balances hormones, natural energy boost)
- 1 tbsp flax meal (Omega 3’s and fiber, good for digestion)
- 1 scoop collagen peptides (Protein, good for skin, hair, joints, cartilage)
- 1 tbsp almond butter
- 1/2 cup coconut water
- 1/2 cup distilled water
- 1 drop Young Living DiGize Vitality oil**
Blend and enjoy!!! You can make this into a smoothie bowl too just by adding a little less water. Then top with seeds, nuts, granola, cacao nibs, coconut, whatever you want! It tastes like frozen yogurt 🙂 You can also use frozen cauliflower instead of banana if you want less sugar, and water instead of coconut water. I just love the electrolytes and potassium I get from these two ingredients after a hard workout 🙂
**What the heck? Why am I putting oil in my smoothie? I just found out that part of my starter kit for joining Young Living were these dietary essential oils that you can actually cook with or take with water. This is such perfect timing, as I have been experimenting with medicinal herbs etc. and now I can use oils too! DiGize Vitality is made with oils like tarragon, peppermint, fennel, and lemongrass, and is used to help with digestion. I put in one drop because it is reallllllyyyyy potent and I can taste it in my smoothie. If you are not into oils, omit this. If you are, I am happy to answer any questions you have!!
xx and happy blending!!
